Yore – the First Rain…

This morning was unlike any other mornings I have seen so far in Israel. When I woke up, the sky was filled with thick, grey clouds, and soon it rained. My flatmates told me that this was the first rain (Yore in Hebrew) in the Jewish New Year, and also the first rain in the Fall (which also means that the season of Autumn has come officially to Israel). The rain didn’t last very long, but it was enough to flood the street in front of my apartment! There aren’t many drainage holes around in the neighbourhood. I supposed that it’s because rain doesn’t happen often here in Israel, and it seemed to me that this morning’s rain was already too much for the very few drainage holes along the street! Tal told me that he and his former flatmates used to name the water flow “Golomb River”, after the street name! Haha! Without further delay, I took out my camera and captured this memorable river: =P
